warm and deeply caring person
with a zest for life and a fierce
loyalty to those she held dear. She
loved Frank Sinatra, dry white
wine, the ocean and attending ser-
vices at Temple Israel, but most of
all, she valued her family and the
time they spent together.
At the funeral service, Marilyn’s
four grandchildren, Emily, Kasie,
Alex and Jake, spoke about their
extraordinary grandmother and
the special relationships she had
with each of them.
Emily, the eldest grandchild,
spoke fondly of shopping trips and
New York adventures with her
grandmother, who captivated those
around her with her inquisitive
conversation, impeccable fashion
sense and sharp wit.
Granddaughter Kasie said, “She
walked into a room and she took
your breath away. She embodied
the idea of bringing dreams to
reality and implored all of us to do
the same. She was my inspiration
and a firecracker in every way.”
Granddaughter Alex announced
that her soon-to-be born daugh-
ter will have the middle name
Marilyn.
Jake spoke of the impact his
grandmother made with her
indomitable energy, spirit and life
force. “She taught us to see the
world differently,” he said.
