into breathtaking body-enhancing
designs. They are gowns that will
turn heads from every angle.”
Aviv attributes the passion sur-
rounding Orabella to one thing: “We
are selling dreams, not just wedding
dresses,” he says. “Your wedding
day is your chance to have your red-
carpet moment or to be princess for
a day, and our gowns help make that
happen by making you look and feel
absolutely amazing.”
Individual attention to each client
is also part of the brand’s essence,
helping to set it apart from the
rest. “Every dress is tailored by hand
in the master studio to the precise
measurements of each individual
bride,” Ristivojevich says. “We take
29 different body measurements so
each dress fits like a glove. There are
fewer fittings than with other lines
because each dress is handcrafted
using the bride’s exact measure-
ments.”
The bridal gowns are in the haute
couture range starting at $7,200 and
up.
“Each dress takes hundreds of
hours to make, with five or six peo-
ple working on it at a time — cut-
ting, beading and stitching by hand,”
Aviv says. “It’s recommended that
the bride is measured and orders the
dress at least six to eight months prior
to the wedding date.”
Aviv says they fit sizes 0 to 14, with
special alterations to accommodate
every body type.
Although Aviv has been in the bridal
industry for nearly 20 years — and
launched Orabella 15 years ago — he
is thrilled with the contemporary
Orabella designs.
Today’s Orabella creations are
designed by Roxana Perez, born in
1982 in Romania. With a B.A. from
the West University of Timishoara and
a master’s degree from the Bucharest
National University of Arts, Perez
opened a bridal salon during graduate
school that quickly grew into a thriv-
ing chain.
“She later had the stellar opportunity
to study under the guidance of world-
renowned designer Roberto Cavalli and
moved to Israel at 24, where she made
a lasting name for herself on the local
fashion scene,” Aviv says. “I spotted her
extraordinary talent and brought her on
as lead designer at Orabella nearly three
years ago.”
Perez says she takes inspiration from
nature, intertwining textures and fab-
rics for unique couture creations. From
sexy backs to streamlined silhouettes,
airy slip dresses with bodice detailing,
and ball gowns with romantic layers
of silk and lace, these haute couture
looks steal the limelight with their
intricate sewing, fine beadwork and
embroidery.
DRESS YOUR DREAMS
Ristivojevich sees a big difference in
today’s brides from when she began in
the business more than 25 years ago.
“Brides-to-be today know what
they want by the time they get into
the store. They have looked online
and pretty much picked out the style
of the wedding dress they want,” she
says. “It’s our job to make their dreams
come true.”
Maria’s for Orabella will grow with
the brand, and a collection of evening
gowns will be available later this year.
“They promise to be as jaw-dropping
as the bridal gowns; that you can count
on,” Ristivojevich says.
After all of these years working in
bridal fashion, Ristivojevich expected
burnout to set in but it never has. “I
still just love it,” she says. “Just yester-
day I cried with a mother who saw her
daughter for the first time in her gor-
geous wedding gown. She was sobbing
tears of joy, saying, ‘I can’t believe this
is my baby getting married.’ I never get
tired of being part of people’s lives at
an important time like this.”
