an abridged tour. $5 for the general
public; admission may be applied
toward first-year membership dues

Friday, May 6, at 10:45 a.m.
Treat your mother to a special
springtime tour and lunch, com-
plete with a piano performance, in
Cranbrook House. George and Ellen
Booth, Cranbrook’s founders, moved

into the estate in 1908, the same
year Anna Jarvis founded the U.S.
Mother’s Day holiday. In celebra-
tion of another historic holiday, the
Kentucky Derby, guests are encour-
aged to attend sporting their finest
spring fashions. $35 for the general
public. $30 for Cranbrook House
and Gardens Auxiliary members.
Advance registration required.

SPRING PLANT SALE
Tuesday, May 10 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Wednesday, May 11 from 10
a.m-2 p.m. Shop for native plants/
wildflowers, perennials, tropical
plants, herbs, tomatoes and more.
Cranbrook House and Gardens
Auxiliary volunteers, some of whom
are master gardeners, will share their
green thumb knowledge with guests.
Visitors can also purchase locally
made arts and crafts items, garden-
ing products, Cranbrook mementos
and more from the Thistle Gift Shop.
Admission to the plant sale is free. *
