vice will be great-grandparents Belrose
and Louis Landgarten. Aaron is also
the grandson of the late Howard
Bennett.
Aaron is a seventh-grader at Norup
International Middle School in Oak
Park. For his mitzvah project, he vol-
unteered as a visitor for the Jewish
Chaplaincy program.

engagement of their daughter Debra
Courtney to Amit Michael Klass, son of Gail
Klass of Chicago and the late Itzhik Klass.
Debra earned her bachelor of science
degree in elementary education from
Western Michigan University and her M.A.
in l iteracy from DePaul University. She
teaches first grade at UCSN Charter School
in Chicago.
Amit earned his bachelor of science
degree cum laude in business management
from Northern Illinois University. He is a
district manager with Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria in Chicago.
A July 2016 wedding is planned at the Westin Hotel Town Center in
Southfield. The couple reside in Chicago.

ickie Orechkin of Delray
Beach, Fla., formerly of
Southfield, will turn 90 years
old this month. She will celebrate with her
husband, Sam, of 66 years; her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
Sharon, David, Todd, Nicole, Jacob, Becca,
Jason, Karen and Michaela Horowitz; Mark,
Robin, Amanda and Ali Orechkin; Andrea,
Howard, Jessica, David (Laderberg) and
Darin Achtman; Lisa, Paul, Sarah and Jack
Berkey. She also has the love and support of
many nieces and nephews. Her entire fam-
ily will gather for a birthday celebration in
Michigan.
