New Director
Named At JCC
Day Camps

T

he Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan
Detroit (JCC) has named
Howard Gutman director of JCC
Day Camps. The announcement
was made by CEO Jim Issner.
In this role,
Gutman will be
responsible for
all aspects of
the JCC Summer
Day Camp and
Break Camp pro-
grams, including
the planning,
Howard
programming,
Gutman
implementation,
operations and recruitment for
the programs.
"Howard brings tremendous
day camp experience to the JCC
and an incredible passion for
delivering meaningful programs
to our campers," Issner said. "We
are excited to have him at the
helm of our camp operations."
Gutman has nearly 30 years
of experience working in day
camps with the city of Southfield.
Gutman served as camp specialist
with the city's day camps where
he developed camp programming
and was responsible for the camp
budget, hiring, training and staff
supervision.
"I am very excited to be part
of such a special program with
such a proud, strong tradition.
I look forward to bringing fresh
ideas and new special events to
the already robust programming
at the JCC Day Camps," Gutman
said.
"Joining the JCC Day Camps
is like coming home added
Gutman whose first job at age
16 was at the Jewish Community

done most of my adult life, pro-

Karen, who is director of business
