Opening their first location at
Applegate Square in 1978 — when
Mark, a recent pre-law grad, dreamed
of being able to wear jeans to work
every day — the store's immediate
popularity demanded a move to a big-
ger space on the Boardwalk in West
Bloomfield, first in 1994, then twice
more over the years.
Now, with their current Boardwalk

business has opened a second location
of Rear Ends. Since leaving Applegate on
Northwestern, says Ariana, they have felt
the loss of a segment of Metro Detroit
shoppers coming from Huntington
