and Dr. Shelley Zolman; daughter-in-
law, Victoria Waite; grandchildren,
Andrea, Julie, Elyse, Brian, Robert
and Ryan Schubiner, Evan, Lucas and
Amelia Zolman; sister-in-law, Lorraine
Schubiner; also survived by many loving
nieces and nephews including Sherry
Meklir, Lauren and Steven Crumme.
Mrs. Schubiner was the devoted
mother of the late Marc Schubiner; the
cherished sister and sister-in-law of the
late Lillian and the late Isadore Fidler,
the late Saralee and the late Lew Tessler,
the late Gail and the late Robert Klegon,
the late Izzy and the late Ann Leeman,
and the late Elliot Schubiner.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
to either City of Hope c/o Delores
Schuldinger, 14101 Balfour, Oak Park,
MI 48237; or National Council of Jewish

ESTHER SHECHTER, 94, of Delray
Beach, Fla., formerly of Southfield,
passed away Aug. 31, 2015.
She was the devoted wife of the
late Sidney Shechter; beloved mother
to Michael Shechter, Nancy (Harlan)
Rossman and Marcia (Sheldon)
Rabinovitz; adored grandmother of
Brian (Mary), Jeffrey and fiancee,
Amanda, Lauren (John) and Bradley;
cherished sister to Rebecca Barnard.
Contributions may be made to a char-
ity of one's choice.

ANDREW SUGAR, 89,
of Walled Lake, died
Sept. 8, 2015.
A Holocaust survivor,
he went back to Hungary
and in 1948 became a
swimming champion for
the country, winning a
Sugar
Bronze in the backstroke
c. 1951
and butterfly.
Mr. Sugar was an
active member of
Congregation B'nai
Moshe and gave gener-
ously of his time to
HOITIUST Yeshiva Gedola.

wife of 64 years, Eva
Sugar of Walled Lake; son, Peter Sugar of
Walled Lake.
Mr. Sugar was the beloved father of the
late Julie Ann Sugar; the cherished brother
and brother-in-law of the late Oscar and
the late Ily Stone.
Interment was at B'nai Moshe Section of
Oakview Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to Yeshiva Gedola, 24600 Greenfield

Temple Israel, in conjunction with its Robert Sosnick Family
Life Center, funded by the Ira Kaufman Chapel, presents the
18th Annual Kever Avot. This very special program provides
an opportunity for older adults in the community to visit the
gravesides of their loved ones. This program serves the
residents of assisted living facilities and apartments.
Spend Sunday September 20th remembering your loved ones.
Each participant will be accompanied by a volunteer on a
one-to-one basis for the morning.
