Jewish Genealogical Society
Looks Forward To New Year
Since its founding by Betty Provizer
Starkman in 1985, the Jewish
Genealogical Society of Michigan
(JGSMI) has been a valuable
resource for local researchers explor-
ing their Jewish family history.
During its September-June pro-
gram year, JGSMI offers speaker
programs, workshops, films and
field trips to archives. Members
attend and lead the summer confer-
ence sessions of the International
Association of Jewish Genealogical
Societies.
Genealogical researchers are invit-
ed to explore the group's holdings at
the Gayle Sweetwine Saini Memorial
Library, within the second-floor
library and archives of the Holocaust
Memorial Center in Farmington
Hills.
Library hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Sunday-Thursday, and 9 a.m.-noon

Membership in JGSMI is $36
annually for an individual and $50
for a married couple. A lifetime

Barbara Schuster, library commit-
tee; Marc Manson, cemetery project;
Kovacs, constitution and by-laws/
slate committee; James Grey, speak-
ers bureau; Lipsitz, webmaster; and
Fred Apel and Bisel, members-at-
large.
