SHIRLEY G. LOCKE, 92, of San Diego,

Calif , formerly of Detroit, died Sept. 4,
2015.
She was a popular event planner in the
greater Detroit area.
Mrs. Locke is survived by her son, Dr.
Bruce (Nancy Sway) Locke; daughter,
Denise (Dr. Phillip) Levy; grandchildren
Alexandra Smith, Erica Levesque, Emily
Levy, Tamara and Ric Anderson, Zac
and Natalie Locke, and Jesse Locke and
Catherine Hubbard; great-grandchildren,
Adam Katz, Evan Katz, Danielle Katz,
Dakota Smith, Maxine Levesque,
Michael Levesque, Lillian Levesque,
Sadie Anderson, Elsie Anderson, Darby
Anderson, Adrien Locke and Owen Locke;
nieces and nephews, Barbara (Mickey)
Nemer, and Paul Canvasser.
She was the wife of the late Sidney
Locke for 65 years. She was also the
beloved daughter of the late David and the
late Marian (Pullberg) Galin; the beloved
daughter-in-law of the late Reva and the
late Morris Fishman; the dear sister of the
late Jocelyn and the late Darwin Canvasser,
and the late Eugene Galin; grandmother of
the late Dave Smith; great-grandmother of
the late Lenard Canvasser.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Contributions may be
made to JARC, 30301 Northwestern Hwy.,
Suite 100, Farmington Hills, MI 48334.

IRVING MARKEL, 84, of Walled Lake,

died Aug. 31, 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn
Markel; daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl
and Robert Ellenstein of Farmington
Hills; brother, Sidney Markel of California,
sisters-in-law, Sylvia Stoller, Elena Rosner;
grandchildren, Steffany, Rebecca, Jenna;
very loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Markel was the loving father of
the late Steven Markel; dear brother and
brother-in-law of the late Shirley and
the late Herman Katz, the late Aaron H.
Rosner, the late Arthur Rosner.
