he Jewish News had its best show-
ing ever with 11 awards given by
the Detroit Chapter of the Society
of Professional Journalists last month.
Three JN columnists were honored. Two
write for the IN's month-
ly "Red Thread" section:
Harry Kirsbaum, whose
eye for irony informs
his "Nightcap" column,
and Ben Falik, whose
young, socially active
perspective is found in
