Lori and Darren Rodner of Bloomfield Hills are delighted
to announce the birth of their son, Zachary Caleb Rodner
(Zachariah Yitzchak Shalaman). Welcoming Zachary home
were big sister Hannah and big brother Joshua. Proud grand-
parents are Judi and Tom Fox of West Bloomfield, Eileen and
Hal Rodner of Bloomfield Hills. Zachary is named in loving
memory of his maternal great-grandfathers Jack (Yiztchak)
Koenig and Sandor (Shalaman) Fuchs.

Ethan Samuel
Hurwitz, son of Jill
and Lee Hurwitz, will
lead the congregation
in prayer on the occa-
sion of his bar mitzvah
on Friday, May 22, at
Temple Israel in West
Hurwitz
Bloomfield. He will be
joined in celebration by
his sister Stella and grandparents Andrea
and Dr. Ronald Hurwitz. Ethan is also the
grandchild of the late Estelle Hurwitz, the
late Harriet and the late Lawrence Mager.
Ethan attends Norup International
School in Oak Park As part of his mitz-
vah project, he volunteered at Yad Ezra
in Berkley to help combat hunger in our
community; he found this to be a very
rewarding experience

on Saturday, May 23,
at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. He is

Danielle and Andy
Mayoras
Mayoras and brother

Alec. Joining in his celebration will be his
proud grandparents Diane and Ronald
Barron, and Sally and David Mayoras. He
is the great-grandchild of Florence
Feinstein.
Brody attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. As part of
his mitzvah project, he volunteered
at Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield, which was especially mean-
ingful to him as his great-grandmother is
a resident.

mitzvah on Saturday,
May 23, at

Shalom in Oak Park

She is the beloved
daughter of Leslie and
Harold Nodler and the older sister of
Danielle. Sharing in the celebration will
be her proud grandparents Linda and

Paul Gold of Bloomfield Hills, and Adele
and Alvin Nodler of Oak Park.
Rachel is a seventh-grade student at
the Norup International School in Oak
Park She found that volunteering at Yad
Ezra in Berkley was her most meaningful
mitzvah project.

Samuel Lewis Rudin
will celebrate his bar
mitzvah at Temple
Israel in West
Bloomfield when he is
called to the bimah on
Saturday, May 23. He
is the loving son of
Rudin
Melissa and Michael
Rudin and brother of
Jack Sharing in this
special occasion will be proud grandpar-
ents Sharon and Robert Rudin, Allan
Warnick and Jackie Cohen. Samuel is also
the grandchild of the late Elizabeth
Warnick.
Sam attends Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield. As part of
his mitzvah experience, he volunteered
at the West Bloomfield Relay for Life
with the Kids Conquering Cancer Team.
This team was founded in 2006 after his
cousin Haley was diagnosed with cancer.
In Haley's and his Grandma Liz's mem-
ory Sam also donated to the American
Cancer Society through the team.

Ruby Jane Schwartz
will read from the
Torah as she celebrates
her bat mitzvah at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on Friday,
May 22. She is the lov-
ing daughter of
Schwartz
Brooke and Bruce
Schwartz and sister to
Rocco. Sharing in her
simchah will be her proud grandparents
Pam Perry Frank and Mary Ellen Perry,
and great-grandmother Julia Perry. Ruby
is also the granddaughter of the late Ruth
and late Bernard Schwartz.
Ruby is a student at Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham. Her
mitzvah project included raising
funds and donating tzedakah to the
Empowerment Plan in Detroit.
