Islamic Extremism Expert
To Speak On Iran And ISIS
Ryan Mauro, the national security ana-
lyst for the Clarion
Project and an
analyst on news
outlets around the
world, will speak at
Young Israel of Oak
Park on Wednesday,
May 27, at 7:30 pm.

The Clarion
Project is a non-
profit that educates the public about
Islamic extremism and provides a plat-
form for voices of moderation and tol-
erance within the Muslim community.
Mauro will speak on "Iran and
ISIS: Two Sides of the Same Coin" —
about their growing influence and the
nuclear negotiations scenarios that can
change the dynamics of the region and
the security of the world.

Educational Meeting Set
For Kidney Donation
Two organizations, Partners in Care
and Renewal, will hold "A Second
Chance at Life," a kidney dona-
tion educational event from 2-5
p.m. Sunday, May 31, at the Jewish
Community Center in Oak Park.
Speakers include Rabbi Eli
Mansour, senior rabbi of Bet Yaakob, a
prominent Sephardic congregation in
Brooklyn, and Dr. Jason Denny, senior
staff surgeon and surgical director of
the Living Donor Kidney Transplant
program at the Henry Ford Transplant
Institute.
The event also features a panel with
three donors answering questions
from the audience. A sushi and salad
buffet will be served.

Loketch and Dr. Mark Faber. To RSVP

StandWithUs-Michigan
Names Executive Board
The StandWithUs-MI board elected
its 2015-2016 executive board on April
16.
They are Barbara Moretsky, presi-
dent; Jeffrey Hollander, vice president;
Margot Gardner, recording secretary;
Dr. Herbert Gardner, treasurer; and
Reva Rosen, corresponding secretary.
The new executive committee took
office on May 1. Based in Los Angeles,
the organization has 18 chapters and
offices throughout the U.S., in Israel,
the U.K. and Canada.
