two years now, my computer

the archives of the JN. During
the course of this work, a num-

numerous times over the years:
Max Fisher, David Hermelin,
Rabbi Leo Franklin and many others.
Every day, I learn something new.

When searching for his name, more

Art + Science Event Helps
Fund Taubman Scientists
On Thursday, May 14, a fundraiser for the
A. Alfred Taubman Institute's Emerging
Scholars grants will take place at the Detroit
Institute of Arts.
In honor of the late businessman-philan-
thropist's dual passions — the quest for medi-
cal cures and the cultivation of the contem-
porary art scene, young research physicians
and upcoming artists have collaborated to
produce works of art. The resulting one-of-a-
kind creations — in media ranging from oils
to textiles to gemstones — will be auctioned
during An Evening of Art + Science:'
Ticket prices for the 6 p.m. event
start at $500; a $1,000 ticket includes
access to an exclusive VIP reception and
art preview at 5 p.m. To purchase, visit
TaubmanArtAndScience.org or contact Jason
Keech at jkeech@umich.edu or (734) 763-0866.

And, he's still writing in every issue
of the JN today. This has to be some
sort of journalistic record; certainly,
one for Detroit publications.
Well, here's a historic phrase Danny
will know well —"My hat is off to you,
sir!" ❑
