Martial Arts Offered To
Those With Special Needs
Dallo Martial Arts of Southfield in
conjunction with Friendship Circle
of West Bloomfield is hosting a day
of martial arts instruction for young
adults with special needs on Sunday,
May 3, from noon-1:30 p.m.
Fourteen young adults ranging
from 14 years of age and older will
attend.
Owner J. Dallo said, "Too often
we overlook youngsters with special
needs, and I see this as an oppor-
tunity to expose them to an enjoy-
able afternoon of martial arts and
an opportunity to feel good about
themselves"

MJI Sets Open House For
High School College Credits
Teens may start earning college credits while
still in high school through the Michigan
Jewish Institute's Dual Enrollment program.
These classes may be underwritten by the
Michigan Department of Education to a sig-
nificant extent, whether the teen is in private
or public school or is home-schooled.
The MJI will hold an open house at 6:30
p.m. Sunday, May 17, at The Shul, 6890
Maple, West Bloomfield.
Classes are also available online for teens
in computers, business, Judaic studies, sci-
ences, education, history and more. MJI is
also offering a new class at a discounted rate
for adults interested in learning to speak
Hebrew.

Burnstein Health Clinic
Sets Reopening Event
The Gary Burnstein Health Clinic, a self-
funded, self-directed healthcare clinic offer-
ing free primary medical care, women's
health care and dental services to low-
income, uninsured residents of the commu-
nity, announces the date for their upcoming
fundraising event at the Crofoot Ballroom in
Downtown Pontiac.
The clinic is the largest free health clinic in
Southeastern Michigan.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14, guests are
invited to experience the Grand Re-Opening
Party. The fundraising event features, cock-
tails, dinner, live music and a live auction
featuring amazing opportunities for guests.

German Rabbi To Speak
At Holocaust Center
The Holocaust Memorial Center Zekelman
Family Campus (www.holocaustcenter.org)
will host Rabbi Yitzchak Mendel Wagner
who will present "Germany: 70 Years Later"
at 7 p.m. Monday, May 4.
Wagner, 35, is the first native-born
German rabbi since the Holocaust. Through
photos and his own accounts, Wagner will
explore the Holocaust and Jewish life in
Germany today.
Some of the questions Wagner will address
are: Has Germany truly changed? What is it
like living as a Jew in Germany today?
Admission is free and kosher desserts will
be served. The Holocaust Memorial Center
is located at 28123 Orchard Lake Road in
Farmington Hills.
