EDWARD LLOYD
SLATE, 86, of Novi,
died March 8, 2015.
He was a sergeant
in the Marines
during the Korean
War and a longtime
member of the
Slate
Masons.
Mr. Slate is sur-
vived by his sons
and daughters-in-law, Alex and Laurel
Slate, Ken and Peggy Slate; grand-
children, Melissa Slate, Sarah (Ethan)
Bolton, Rachael Slate, Matthew Slate,
Joshua Popkin; many loving family
members and friends.
He was the beloved husband of the
late Muriel Slate; the brother of the late
Paula Slate.
Contributions may be made to
Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
Private services were held at Wellwood
Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

BETTY WEISS, 89,
of Farmington Hills,
died March 13,

She was involved
with the National
Council of Jewish
Women, Meals on
Wheels, Up and Out
Program, and she
was a member of

the USO.
Mrs. Weiss is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Mark and Andria
Weiss; daughters and sons-in-law,
Deborah and Miles Barnett, Sherelyn
and Anthony Kahn; grandchildren,
Kevin and Amy Weiss, Kimberly
Weiss, Scott Weiss, Susan and Jared
Sherr, Seth and Cortney Barnett,
Jacob Kahn and Jessica Kahn; great-
grandchildren, Elianna Weiss, Samuel
Weiss, Gwendolyn Weiss, Rowan Sherr,
Henry Sherr and Rose Barnett; devoted
caregivers, Jennifer Halbrooks and Lori
Whiteside, R.N.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Sidney D. Weiss; the cherished mother
of the late Paul Weiss; the loving sister
of the late Norman and the late Minnie
Leving, the late Eva and the late Samuel
Pack.
Interment was at B'nai David
Cemetery. Contributions may be made
