Carolyn Krieger-Cohen chose lus-
cious poppy pink for the accent wall in
her own office, which she has filled with
mementos, awards and framed sayings
("Life is Shor" is a favorite). Birdy clips, a
gift from her daughters, hold special cards
and photos.
Staff member Jacqueline King,
"who has amazing skills with chalk," says
Krieger-Cohen, re-created the company
logo on the chalkboard, which asks guests
for their autographs.
ust an office feel like an office?
"Absolutely not:' says Carolyn Krieger-Cohen.
When her public-relations firm, CKC Agency,
lived in its former space, in the same Farmington Hills
building it is in now, she worked hard to convince Mark
Canvasser, owner of Canvasser Development Inc., to let
her try a few tricks she had up her sleeve. With each sug-
gestion — angled walls, black molding and red paint, for
example — he was terrified. Eventually, though, he came
to use the suite as a model to show prospective tenants.
Soon growing out of the original space, Krieger-Cohen
took a much larger, albeit beige, suite, and set to work to
create a dream office — in every way. "Mark was wonder-
ful, and worked with me she says. "By this time, I don't
think anything was too crazy:' He gave her blueprint paper
— and with the help of Richard M. Hyman Builders in
West Bloomfield, she added a conference room, floor-to-
ceiling glass walls and more.
