Special to the Jewish News

he 83rd annual Intercongregational
Men's Club Dinner took place Feb.
12 at Young Israel of Oak Park and
was sponsored by Congregation Or Chadash
of Huntington Woods/Oak Park.
The featured speaker was Vice Consul
General Midwest of the State of Israel Alex
Goldman-Shayman, who spoke about a
variety of topics related to the current situa-
tion in the Middle East and future prospects
for peace.
The late Rabbi Eliezer Cohen of
Congregation Or Chadash was a great
proponent of participation in the Men's
Club Dinner, where Jews of all streams
of Judaism come together in the spirit of
Jewish unity. Or Chadash was the first
Orthodox synagogue to participate in the
Men's Club Dinner. In the spirit of goodwill,
Young Israel of Oak Park graciously invited
Or Chadash to use its synagogue facilities
this year.
At the dinner, Rabbi Azaryah Cohen gave
a tribute to his father. He and Rabbi Eliezer
Finkelman, the two rabbis of Or Chadash,
participated in the ceremonies.
