hether you crave a day at the spa
or only have time for a quick-fix
facial, treat yourself to a soothing
experience at MassageLuxe's newest location on
Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield (next
to Plum Market). On the heels of the success of
the spa's Novi location, which opened in 2011,
the brand-new MassageLuxe is celebrating with
a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand-opening
event on Thursday, Oct. 16 (proceeds from
raffle-ticket sales will benefit Susan G. Komen
Passionately Pink for the Cure).
The ceremony will be attended by special
guest Lydia Sarfati, founder of Repechage Skin
Care, a Polish-born esthetician and author (and
daughter of Holocaust survivors) who is credited
with introducing seaweed-based skin treatments
in the United States, and whose collection will
be available at the spa.
MassageLuxe will offer treatments, including
Swedish, hot stone, deep tissue, prenatal, sports
massage, aromatherapy and more. MassageLuxe
also incorporates its sister brand, FaceLuxe,
which also offers state-of-the-art facials, micro-
dermabrasion, glycolic peels and more.
"MassageLuxe and FaceLuxe deal exclusively
with Repechage products and techniques:' says
Surinder Judge, who, with his wife, Neena,
are the Michigan-area developers of the
MassageLuxe brand. The team is led by esthetics
manager Danielle Larue, who has trained exten-
sively with Repechage and also lectures on the
process. For more information about the spa,

OVERALL CHIC
The sturdy worker's dungaree has trav-
eled a long road to finally arrive on
designers' runways. The season's trend
often has little in common, except a
bib front, with the early-20th-century
worker's uniform, the classic and cute
toddler coveralls or the grungy styles of
the '90s.
Cleaned-up, carved out and featur-
ing modern fabrication, today's overalls,
crafted by everyone from TK to Genetic

have made fans of Gwyneth Paltrow,
Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker and, of
course, Justin Bieber (but we'll leave that
one alone).
Still a staple for comfort and ease of
styling, overalls also share an element of
the glamorous jumpsuit — transition-
ing effortlessly from day to night with a
simple change of shoes, shirt or jewels.
"The focus of denim has always been
comfort:' says Ariana Blumenfeld,
owner of and buyer for Rear Ends in
West Bloomfield. "So overalls are just
the natural progression. You can style
them comfortably with sneakers and a
T-shirt or cuff them with a great pair
of booties and wear them out at night.
Don't think, 'I've worn them once; I can't
go back:" she says. "Instead, get into
a store and try them on. You might be
surprised at how much you love them. I
definitely was:'
