She is survived by

Ava Schiff; sisters, Rosemarie Karbal and
Sandra Gale; sisters-in-law and brothers-
in-law, Phyllis Seel, Fred and Lois Band,
Beverly and Sheldon Scharg, and Sherry
and Michael Surnow; many nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Band was the devoted daughter of
the late Louis and the late Mary Lazarus;
the dear sister-in-law of the late Seymour
Karbal, the late Richard Gale and the late
Dr. Allen Seel; the former wife of the late
Jerry Band.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial

CHARLES "BUDDY"
BENJAMIN, 0.D., 89, of
West Bloomfield, died
May 24, 2014.
He practiced optom-
etry in the city of Detroit
for 50 years. Despite
the retirement of Bobby
Benjamin
Layne, Charles remained
a loyal Detroit Lions fan
throughout his life.
Dr. Benjamin is survived by his son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Danny and Marilyn
Benjamin of West Bloomfield; daughter
and son-in-law, Susie and Harold Serwer of
Franklin; grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan
Benjamin, Melissa and Alex Serwer.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Dorothy Jean Benjamin.
A memorial service was held at Temple
Beth El on May 28, 2014. Contributions
may be made to Wayne State University
School of Medicine or to a charity of one's
choice.

BIEDERMAN, 40, of
Tempe, Ariz., died May
27, 2014.
He is survived by his

Ryan and Emily Klemptner; grandmother,
Peggy Arrendondo; uncles and aunts, Dr.

Lea Arredondo; and their children, Charles
Biederman, Chris Arredondo, Jayme
Arredondo and Manina and Kao Phan.
Mr. Biederman was the loving grand-
son of the late Ralph Arredondo, the late
William Biederman and the late Edna
Biederman.

noon Friday at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
