Despite the retirement of Bobby Benjamin Layne, Charles remained a loyal Detroit Lions fan throughout his life. Dr. Benjamin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Danny and Marilyn Benjamin of West Bloomfield; daughter and son-in-law, Susie and Harold Serwer of Franklin; grandchildren, Matthew and Ryan Benjamin, Melissa and Alex Serwer.
