and Jason Liss, along with siblings Jonah
and Michael. He is the grandchild of
Carol and Alvin Levine, Judy and Robert
Liss, Dorothy Clingman, and Susan and
Robert Chapla.
Gabe attends Berkshire Middle
School in Birmingham. As an avid
tennis player, he felt his most mean-
ingful mitzvah project involved rais-
ing and donating funds to the Andre
Agassi Foundation and to the National
Charitable Foundation of the USTA.

Sophia Mae Sherbin
(Mirtza Rachel) will
become a bat mitzvah
at Temple Shir
Shalom in West
Bloomfield on Friday,
May 2. She is the
daughter of Lisa and
Sherbin
Joshua Sherbin.
Joining in the cele-
bration will be her siblings Eve and
Noah. Her proud grandparents are
Libby and Jerry Sherbin. Sophie is also
the granddaughter of the late Pearl and
the late Lauren Allenspach.
Sophie is a student at Bloomfield
Hills Middle School. Her mitzvah
experiences included participating in
PeerCorps, where she volunteered at
D-Town Farms, an organic farm in
Detroit.

West Bloomfield. His
proud grandparents are Charlotte and
Bob Silverstone, Judy and Wayne
Stewart, and great-grandmother
Gwendolyn Murray.
Eric attends Oak Valley Middle
School in Commerce Township. For one
of his mitzvah projects that he found to
be very meaningful, he volunteered at a
local physical rehabilitation unit, help-
ing staff with patient needs.

brate his bar mitzvah
on Saturday, May 3,

Beth Ahm in West
Bloomfield. He is the
son of Robin and
Rubenstein
Rabbi Steven
Rubenstein and
brother of Tali. Proud grandparents are
Eileen and Ira Rosenbaum, Martin
Rubenstein and Lana Gelb. He is also
the grandson of the late Arlene
Rubenstein.
Ari is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. Over the past year, he has volun-
teered at Yad Ezra in Berkley for one of
his many mitzvah projects.
