r. Louis and Claudia Hirschman
of West Bloomfield are thrilled
to announce the engagement of
their daughter Pamela Nicole Hirschman to
Bradley Matthew Caravas, son of Victoria
and Gary Caravas of Clinton Township.
Pamela graduated with distinction from
the University of Michigan, receiving a B.A.
in psychology and obtained her J.D. from
Georgetown University Law Center. She is a
trademark attorney with Sheridan Ross P.C.
in Denver, Colo.
Bradley received both his B.S. in mechani-
cal engineering and a master's in engineer-
ing from the University of Colorado. He is employed as a project engineer with
Prototype Casting Inc. in Denver.
A September wedding is planned in Keystone Resort, Colo.

Livermore, Ph.D
Celia is a descendant
of Holocaust survivors
and spent much of her
life in Beer-Sheva. This
experience led to her
interest in the topic of
our presentation. After
serving in the IDF, she received a Masters
Degree and PhD from the University of
Toronto. Since 2001, Celia has been a tenured
Professor of Management of Information
Systems at Wayne State University.
Sylvie Jami Salei
Sylvie is a Sephardic
Jew born in Tunisia. She
settled with her family in
Paris after their expulsion
from Tunisia. Sylvie
moved to Israel, where
she married, moved to
Michigan and became a
US citizen. She has two
children and is the owner of a day spa. Sylvie
has expertise in French, Arabic and Hebrew.

renda Betel turns 90 on May 1.
Brenda and her beloved Sam emi-
grated to Detroit in 1959 from
Netanya, Israel. Brenda and Sam owned
and operated a tailoring shop for almost 30
years before his death in 1987. Brenda is
the proud mother of Edward (Ellen) Betel,
Dahlia (Harvey) Klein, and Aaron (Tammy)
Betel, of the Detroit area. She is the loving
grandmother to Wendy (Josh) Heller, Beverly
(Zack) Block, Jessica (Adam) Tod, Jodie (Ian)
Deshmukh, Amy (Tim) Griffin, Josh Klein,
Steven and Melanie Betel, Nikki and Michelle
Budaj. Brenda has 10 great-grandchildren.
Brenda's boundless energy, persistence
and passion for chesed and tzedakah are seen in her volunteer work at the Berry
Surgery Center and at the Holocaust Memorial Center. She is a dedicated con-
gregant at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. Her birthday was cel-
ebrated with a party with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lindsay graduated from Michigan State
University with a bachelor of arts degree
in elementary education. She is working
as a substitute teacher in the Walled Lake
Consolidated School District.
Brandon also graduated from Michigan
State University with a bachelor of science
degree in food industry management. He is
a private fleet manager at Echo Global Logistics in Troy.
The happy couple are planning a July wedding at Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield.
