hile the essence of what
the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit does is
simple — raising funds for critical com-
munity needs — the way it works remains
mysterious to many people. With the goal
to engage and inform the community,
Federation has launched Jewish Detroit
Votes 2014 — a bold social media initiative
inviting community participation to deter-
mine how a special $50,000 grant from the
2014 Challenge Fund will be used.
"Federation's Annual Campaign has
always been about the community voice
says Lisa Cutler, director of campaign and
community development at the Federation.
"But here's an opportunity to hear from
every corner of the community, donors and
non-donors alike.
"Jewish Detroit Votes 2014 is a great
way for people to gain insight into what
Federation does, specifically by weighing
in on how this one-time $50,000 alloca-
tion will be distributed among five areas of
Jewish community service:"
