State University. She
Horwitz
joined the CLAS team
three years ago. In her expanded role,
she will assist with major gift work for
the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic
Studies, as well as taking on additional
responsibilities in CLAS.
On Dec. 31, Harvey
Bronstein will retire
from the faculty of
Oakland Community
College's Business
Administration
Department. He has
a
been with OCC since
Bronstein
August 1968. He
taught 31,500 students, mentored hun-
dreds, ran the Distinguished Speaker
series for 18 years, which hosted 100
prominent guest speakers, and has had
classroom guest speakers on 900 occa-
sions. He was responsible for a
$300,000 grant from Microsoft to OCC.
Professor Bronstein served on a state-
wide basis representing community
colleges as vice chair for more than six
years for two Student Loan and Student
Financial Assistance Authorities as an
appointee of Gov. Jennifer Granholm.
Earlier this year, he was the annual
honoree at Young Israel of Southfield.
