r. Norman and Dee Dee Lynn of
West Bloomfield are delighted
to announce the engagement of
their daughter Melissa Nicole Lynn to Jesse
Alan Lafer, son of Kerry Lafer of Farmington
Hills, and Barbara and Larry Elson of
Commerce Township.
Melissa graduated from the University of
Michigan and earned an M.B.A. from the
UCLA Anderson School of Management. She
is brand manager for the North Business Unit
at Red Bull.
Jesse graduated from Michigan State
University with a B.S. in computer engineering
and is an IT consultant with Accenture.
Sharing in their happiness are Melissa's grandmother Dorothy Lynn and Jesse's
grandmother Frances Lafer.
Melissa and Jesse reside in Chicago and will be married this October at the Henry
Hotel in Dearborn.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Leslie
Lafer of Bloomfield Township and Mr.
Laurence Smith of Birmingham. Lindsey's
attendant was her brother, Ari Smith.
Toby's best men were his brothers, Sam
and David. Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Ascher from Westchester, N.Y., and many
friends and family participated in the cer-
emony.
The couple honeymooned in South Africa
and the Mauritius Islands.
Lindsey is a bankruptcy attorney at Leven, Neale, Bender, Yoo and Brill. Toby
works at Toby Ascher Productions. They reside in Los Angeles, Calif.

Franci graduated from Michigan State
University with a bachelor's degree in

Sam graduated from Michigan State
University with a bachelor's degree in gen-
eral business. He is employed as a sales con-
