of their daughter Lisa Pamela to
Michael Jason Bernfeld, son of Shimon and
Julie Bernfeld of Brooklyn (Midwood), N.Y.
The bride's father officiated at the candle-
light ceremony at the Crystal Plaza, a his-
toric mansion in Livingston, N.J.
The bride was attended by her sisters-
in-law, Mimi Sager Yoskowitz of Chicago,
Dr. Lisa Cohen Yoskowitz of Durham, N.C.,
and Kate Bernfeld of New York; and friends,
Adina (Chavie) Wexelberg-Clouser and
Hadar Schwartz of New York. Jordyn and
Noa Yoskowitz, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.
The groomsmen were Kaleb Shervington of New York; the groom's brothers,
Yoni Bernfeld and Ari Bernfeld; and the bride's brothers, Marc Yoskowitz and
Rabbi Jeremy Yoskowitz. The bride's nephews, Caleb and Ben Yoskowitz, served
as ring bearers.
The couple live in Manhattan, where Lisa, a graduate of Cranbrook
Kingswood and Barnard College, works as a children's book editor; and Michael,
a graduate of Yeshiva University and Cardozo School of Law, is an attorney.

Philip Lee Janis, son of Sylvia and Lee Janis
of Dewitt, Mich.
Phil is the grandson of Nancy Fenton Janis
of West Bloomfield, the late Lee and Nancy
Janis, and the late Walter and Stella Bajor.
Rebecca is the granddaughter of Ceil and
Jerry Liebman of Southfield, and Cecil and
Julie Rochwerg of Toronto.
Phil completed his bachelor of arts in
marketing and social studies education at
Michigan State University. He is an instructor at Great Lakes Cyber Academy in
the Lansing area.
Rebecca is completing her bachelor of language arts at Michigan State
University and is a sales associate at Wheat Jewelers, also in the Lansing area.
A wedding is planned for June 2014 at the Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi.

ea Matz, formerly of Chicago, Ill.,
and Coconut Creek, Fla., celebrated
her 99th birthday on Aug. 26 at a
dinner given with love by her daughters and
sons-in-law, Linda and Howard Newman,
and Shari and Chuck Handel. Her grandchil-
dren and great-grandchildren from Chicago
were there to celebrate the special occasion
and wish her continued good health. She is
an amazing woman who is a joy to be with
and an inspiration to all with her easy-going
nature and lust for life.
