JUNE BERGER LEVINE, 66, of Laguna
Woods, Calif., formerly of Farmington
Hills, died Aug. 6, 2013.
She is survived by her sons and daugh-
ter-in-law, Paul Levine, and Mark and
Husna Levine; sister and brother-in-law,
Alice and Mark Shapiro; many loving
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Richard Joel Levine; the devoted daugh-
ter of the late Murray and the late Ruth
Berger.
Interment was at Adat Shalom

Dr. Luft is survived by his wife of 58
years, Beatrice Luft; daughters and sons-

Robert Glassman of New Jersey; grand-
children, Ashley and Max Nathan,
Francesca and Dylan Bennett, and Jeremy
and Spencer Glassman; brother and sister-
in-law, Arnold and Rose Luft of California;
nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was the cherished father of the late
Brenda Lynn Luft; the dear brother-in-law
of the late Sidney and the late Mildred
Locker.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park

She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Michael and Elena Levin of
Ann Arbor; daughter, Galina Pikovsky
of Cupertino, Calif.; grandchildren,
Nicholas Levin, Irena and Mark Shwayder,
Alexander Levin.
Mrs. Nigin was the beloved wife of the

late Beniamin Nigin.

STEVEN LACOFF PLAVNICK, 67, of

Paonia, Colo., died July 19, 2013.
He was born to Bernard J. Plavnick and
Betty Lacoff in Detroit. His family later
moved to Oak Park.
Following his high school graduation,
Mr. Plavnick went to Michigan State
University, where he obtained his bach-
elor's, master's and doctoral degrees in
criminal justice.
He is survived by his partner Jacqueline
Jeffreys of Paonia; his former partner and
mother of his children, Sharon Cutler
Plavnick of Holt, Mich.; two sons, Matthew
Plavnick and his wife Jenna of Denver,
Colo., Joshua Plavnick and his wife Amy of
Ann Arbor, Mich.; one daughter, Rebecca
Plavnick of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; sisters,
Nadine Iris Bell and her husband Seymour
Bell of Dallas, Texas, and Cheryl Joyce
Plavnick and her partner, Rae Siporin of
Corrales, N.M.; five grandchildren.

DEBRA LYNN SAFE, of

West Bloomfield, died

She was born in
Belleville, Ontario, and
graduated summa cum
laude from Michigan
State University with a
Safe
bachelor of arts in social
work. She spent the majority of her career
giving her heart and soul to her clients at
Southwest Community Mental Health, as
well as other facilities, helping the men-
tally impaired.
Ms. Safe is survived by her mother,
Marlene Glazer; many loving aunts,
uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband, Tom Little; beloved
sister, Cheryl Safe; and beloved stepfather,
Alvin Glazer.
