RUDOLPH "RUDI"
STRAUS, 85, of
Yonkers, N.Y., died Jan.
29, 2013.
His parents, Ilsa and
Leo Straus, came to
the United States in
July of 1938. He was
Straus
a founding partner of
American Commercial and Industrial
Realty Company. He was also an avid
sailor and Commodore of Great Lakes
Yacht Club in 1997.
Mr. Straus and his wife, Betty, mem-
bers of Congregation Shaarey Zedek,
were married by Rabbi Adler in 1953
and remained members all these years.
Mr. Straus is survived by his wife of
59 years, Betty Straus; daughters and
sons-in-law, Leslie Straus and Russell
Miraglia, and Ellen and Albert Sargenti;
son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Maria
Straus; grandchildren, Allison Miraglia,
Michael Miraglia, Aaron Straus, Raquel
Straus and Lena Straus-Sargenti.
He was the cherished brother of the
late Inge and the late Oscar Kramer, and
the late Gladys and the late Dr. Harold
Feldman.

Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be made

DAVID M.
TABASHNIK, 83, of
Palm Desert, Calif.,
passed away Jan. 26,
2013, in Palm Desert.
He was born March
10, 1929, to Louis and
Leah Tabashnik in
Tabashnik
Detroit. He married
Suzanne Krause on March 29, 1987,
in Franklin. He was a graduate of the
University of Michigan with a degree
in political science. He was a member
of the Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. He
was the owner of Artistic Furniture
Manufacturing Co.
Mr. Tabashnik is survived by his wife,
Suzanne; daughter, Susan Tabashnik of
Walled Lake; sons, Bruce Tabashnik of

Tucson, Ariz., and David B. Tabashnik of
Birmingham; sister, Nedra Kapetansky
of West Bloomfield; three grandchildren,
Gabriel, Sheldon and Kailen. He is also
lovingly survived by Suzanne's children:
daughter, Laura (David) McMillan of
Melbourne, Australia, and son, Eric
(Shawn) Krause of West Bloomfield.
A private memorial service will be
held. Contributions may be made to
Sun City Hadassah, 78280 Willowrich,
Palm Desert, CA 92211. Arrangements
by Forest Lawn Memorial Parks &
Mortuaries.

SHIRLEY UTCHENIK, 90, of
Farmington Hills, died Jan. 23, 2013.
She is survived by her sister-in-law,
Charlotte Jonap; many loving nieces,
nephews and friends.
Mrs. Utchenik was the beloved wife
of the late Herman J. Utchenik; the
cherished mother of the late Vicki Lynn
Utchenik.
Interment was at Machpelah
