the Torah as a
bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 15,
at Adat Shalom
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills.
Joshua is the son of Gail and Gary
Chynoweth. Sharing in Joshua's
simchah were his sisters, Sarah,
Rebecca and Rachel. His grandpar-
ents are Karen Block, Dennis and
Mary Block, the late Robert and the
late Joyce Chynoweth.
Joshua attends Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. While he par-

he felt his most meaningful was
the time he spent at the Friendship
Circle in West Bloomfield.

However, every time the orthodontist has to replace a bracket, it
extends the orthodontic treatment longer and can also prevent
obtaining an ideal result. If you swallow a bracket that has fallen off
it is not a serious problem. Brackets are made of a medical grade
stainless steel, which just passes through your digestive system.

The next step in taking care of braces is avoiding the foods that can
break them or pull them off. Gum is not recommended. Do not chew
on ice and avoid hard or sticky candies. Other foods to avoid are
again anything that is sticky, gooey or overly crunchy. Hard foods
that you have to bite with the front teeth can knock off a bracket. To
be safe, cut up apples, carrots and other food like these into small
pieces.

rubber bands to manipulate your bite, change them as prescribed.
You should take off your rubber bands before each meal and put in
new ones after you are done eating and also before you go to bed.
Taking proper care of the health of your teeth and protecting your
braces is expected during orthodontic treatment. You will be glad
you followed your orthodontist's directions exactly when you get your
braces off on time!
