FRED GOODSTEIN, 91, formerly of
Detroit, of San Rafael, Calif., passed
away on Nov. 9, 2012.
Mr. Goodstein is survived by his
beloved wife of 66 years, Ruth; sister,
Faye Frumin of Deerfield Beach, Fla.;
children, Sharon (Dr. Jerry) Young of
San Rafael, Harold (Kathy) Goodstein
of West Bloomfield, Steve Goodstein
of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren,
Dr. Matthew Young of Ann Arbor,
Dr. Rachel (Rimone) Frucht of San
Francisco, Rebecca (Josh) Gustin of
San Francisco, Corey Goodstein of
West Bloomfield.
Mr. Goodstein was the brother of
the late Sophie Ellenbogen and the late
Dave Goodstein.

died Nov. 9, 2012.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Naomi Katz; sons and daughters-in-
law, Steven and Amy Katz of Novi, Joel
and Staci Katz of E. Northport, N.Y.;
daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and
Chris Hackman of White Lake; brother
and sister-in-law, Johnny and Suzie
Katz of West Bloomfield; sister, Esther
Winer; grandchildren, Kayla and
Brianna Koch, Hannah Katz, Benjamin
and Samantha Katz, Alayna, Paige and
Noah Hackman; many loving nieces,
nephews, other family members and
friends.
Mr. Katz was the father of the late
Allen Katz.

OLGA LIFTER, 89,
of West Bloomfield,
died Nov. 7, 2012.
She emigrated
from Australia to
Detroit at the end of
World War II after
marrying Sheldon,
Lifter
a U.S. soldier from
Detroit with whom she would spend
60 happy years. She worked for nearly
50 years as a skilled bookkeeper.
Mrs. Lifter is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Mark and Arlene
Oakland Lifter of Farmington Hills;
sister, Hazel Fischer of Chevy Chase,
Md.; grandchildren, Elaine Lifter
(Matthew Foraker) and Matthew
(Michelle) Lifter; great-grandchildren,
Aiden, Hudson and Cooper; many
other loving nieces, nephews, other
family members and friends; special
devoted friend, Linda Palugyay.
Mrs. Lifter was the beloved wife of
the late Sheldon J. Lifter.
