HILLEL GROSSMAN HARAMATI,
90, of Kibbutz Ein Dor, Israel, died
Sept. 22, 2012.
During World War II, although
he was 4-F due to his club feet, Mr.
Haramati worked in a factory, stand-
ing on his feet because his younger
brother, Mordecai (Milton), was
fighting in Germany (and subse-
quently killed in the Battle of the
Bulge.)
As a member of Shomer Hatzair,
right after the war ended, he made
his way to France, got on a ship filled
with survivors of the concentration
camps and sailed toward Palestine.
The ship was captured by the British
and passengers were all interned on
Cypress. The Haganah rescued him,
and he worked in an underground
.factory making arms for the War of
Independence. He met his first wife,
Ahudah, who also worked there. She
was a sabra.

Grossman LoPatin; many nephews,
nieces, grandnephews and grand-
nieces.
He was the father of the late Alon
Haramati; grandfather of the late
Gillel Haramati.
