"The idea that no one is perfect is a view most commonly held by people with no grandchildren." -

Triplet Dip
It's a triplet dip fun in
the sun! Those cute
sisters, 31/2, are Zoey,
Avery and Devyn
Kapeller of West
Bloomfield. Proud
grandparents are
Cheryl and Gary Schurman of Farmington, and Lorraine
and John Kapeller of Grandville, Mich.

Skyping With
Great-Grandson
"Every time we Skype,
Lorenzo Sylvan Metcalf, 81/2
months, of Boony Doon,
Calif., has a big smile on his
face and a new trick to show
us," say great-grandparents
Henry and Ilene Rubin of
West Bloomfield. "The latest
one, this week, was to greet us with a big smile and then
give us the 'raspberry' sound followed with another big
smile. He is too young to talk, but we figured that was his
way of saying 'hello. His two constants are the smile on
his face and his sweet personality"

"You're Old!"
Grandma Marlene
Gelfand of West Bloomfield
told her grandchildren she
"got to be a Bubbie because
she was smart!' One of her
5-year-old twin grandsons
Ari and Ryan Saperstein of
West Bloomfield (she's not sure which) replied, "No, you got
to be a Bubbie because you're old."

I've Got A Secret
What is little Lucy Blair
Manchel, 4 months old,
of West Bloomfield think-
ing during this picture?
Perhaps it's "I've got a
secret" Or maybe it's "I'm
the favorite," write proud
grandparents Andi and Bob Sklar of West Bloomfield.
Lucy is also the grandchild of Larry and Kitty Wayburn,
and Beverly and Jerry Manchel, as well as the great-
grandchild of Libby and Leo Sklar.

Thumbs Up
Leo Fox, 16 months, of
Needham, Mass., gives a
"thumbs up" to Michigan
corn during a visit to
grandparents Sue and
David Efros of Bingham
Farms.

Earth To Mars
Adrea and David Benkoff
of Farmington Hills
caption this photo of
grandson Gavin Tate
Handelsman, 6 months,
of Birmingham as "Earth
to Mars!"

Barry Manilow Fan
Alexis Kaganas, 51/2, of
Dallas, Texas, is the grand-
daughter of Milton and
Isabel Dzodin of Southfield.
"Alexis loves Barry Manilow
and can sing most of his
songs:' writes Isabel. "She
recently asked if Barry
could sing at her wedding. I
said maybe, if she got mar-
ried within the next few
years. She said 'OK' and
that she 'would look for a boyfriend when she got back to
school! Guess I better start saving my money!"

'I'm Keeping It'
Ari Matzkin-Bridger, 31/2,
of West Bloomfield was
wearing his ring-bearer
outfit for his cousin's
wedding in this photo,
according to grandma
Judy Stern of West
Bloomfield. His com-
ment was, "Gramma, I'm
gonna keep the ring."

Future Stars
"We are trying out for
America's Got Talent:'
say Hailey Serlin, 6,
and Jordan Serlin, 3,
of Huntington Woods.
Grandparents are Linda
and Murray Goldenberg
of Farmington Hills, Cathy
and Joel Serlin of West
Bloomfield, and Linda and
Bill Horn of Ohio.

Up North Fun
On a recent family vacation
Up North, Mayer Krieger,
61/2, of Sylvan Lake's favorite
saying was, "What will Papa
do next!" says grandmother
L. Krieger.

Find A Penny ...
Rain Kai Rowinski, 6, of
Beverly Hills, was on a shop-
ping trip to Target with
grandma Lucille Halberstadt
of West Bloomfield. They
were walking to the car when
Rain spotted a penny on the
ground. "As I kept walking,
Rain said 'Granny, you know I
collect money:" says Lucille.

Doug Larson

Say What?
When Aaron
Rudman, 11, and
sister Sarah, 8, of
West Bloomfield,
were discussing
the birth of their
brother Jordan,
21/2, Sarah asked,
"What do babies
wear when they come out?" Aaron replied, "It's not like
they're born wearing a sombrero and a diaper, Sarah!"
Proud grandparents are Marilyn and the late Gil "Papa"
Cohen of Farmington Hills, and Terry and Ron Rudman
of Manassas, Va.

Happy Days
Arlene and William Kingston (Mimi and Papa) of West
Bloomfield say that with their granddaughters Sabina
Mintz, 11, and Juliet Mintz, 7 (both of Hollywood, Calif),
"Happy days are here again!" When Arlene had just gotten
a shorter haircut and her hair colored and highlighted for
the second time in her life, only 101/2-year-old grandson
Isaac Mintz of West Bloomfield noticed. "Grandma, you
had your hair done!" When she asked him how he liked
it, he answered, "Well, to tell you the truth, I liked it lon-
ger and black, you looked more like a Grandma."

Time Capsule
Every year, Bubbie and Papa Cooper (also known as Lorri
and Jerry, of West Bloomfield), go on a vacation with
their grandchildren, the Cooper-Dudovitz family: Jake,
11, Cameron, 9, Lindsay, 8, Sofie, 7, Josh, 10, Noah, 8, and
Carly, 13. Each year at the Hamptons, they bury a time
capsule, except this year, according to Lorri, they acciden-
tally buried the map with the capsule. "Oops!"

Fun Outside
Gail and Sidney Mintz
were playing outside,
skipping, hopping, roll-
ing on the grass and
running, when grand-
daughter Eden Mintz,
71/2, of West Bloomfield,
said: "Grandma, when
you were my age, could
you run faster than
that?"
