Approximately 50 fans gathered for a July 18, kosher barbecue
and afternoon prayer service in front of the Isaac Agree Downtown
Synagogue in Detroit followed by a five-minute walk to Comerica Park to cheer on the
team.
"We thank Leor Barak and the Downtown Synagogue for helping to facilitate the

event," said Rabbi Shneur Silberberg of the Sara and Morris Tugman Bais Chabad
Torah Center in West Bloomfield, whose young adult group organized the evening's
festivities.
Silberberg led the service and shared some words of wisdom with the group on
the Torah lessons that can be learned from baseball.
"The prayers seemed to work," he said. "The Tigers went on to handily
beat their opponents, the Los Angeles Angels, 7-2." -21
