She is the daughter

Skolnick and older
sister of Daniel.

Proud grandparents are Shel and
Andrea Jacobs of West Bloomfield,
Gloria Jacobs of Oak Park and Renee
Gruskin of West Bloomfeld. She is also
the granddaughter of the late Alan
Gruskin.
Lydia is a student at O.E. Dunckel
Middle School in Farmington Hills.
One of her mitzvah projects was rais-
ing money for the Relay for Life.

r. Alyssa Torby and
Byron Hauck were
recently married at the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Rabbi Aaron Bergman of Adat
Shalom Synagogue in Farmington
Hills officiated. The bride is the
daughter of Dr. David and Joyce
Torby of Farmington Hills. The
groom is the son of Mark and
Nancy Hauck of Grosse Pointe
Park.
Michelle Torby, the bride's
sister, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids included Jen
Burstein and the groom's sisters,
Carlin, Taylor and Dana Hauck.
The best man was Andrew
Daar. Ushers were Archer Hauck,
the groom's brother, and Adam Hellebuyck and James Kunz.
Alyssa earned three undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan
and her M.D. degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. She is a
resident in psychiatry at Oregon Health and Sciences University.
Byron received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and
a master's degree in accounting from the University of Toledo. He is employed
by the accounting firm of Whitworth and Becker in Portland, Ore.
The couple honeymooned in France and will reside in Portland.
