94, died May 12,
2012.
She is survived
by her niece,
Marcie Weinstein
of Southfield;
daughter-in-
law, Marsha Gordon; brother and
sister-in-law, Abba and Regina
Shapiro; sister and brother-in-law,
Fay and Abraham Brickner; grand-
child, Stacie (Scott) Niskar; nieces
and nephews, Linda Birdsong,
Laura (Benjamin) Bryant, Marcie
(Sheldon) Weinstein, Elise
Brickner-Schultz (Gary), Susan
Conway, Debra (Howard) Wander,
Ronald (Karen) Brickner; many
loving great-nieces and great-
nephews and the wonderful care-
givers from Caregivers of West
Bloomfield.
Mrs. Gordon was the beloved
wife of the late Jerry Gordon;
the sister of the late Yetta (late
Norman) Kagan and the late
Bessie (the late Eddie) Wachlarz;
aunt of the late John Birdsong;
mother-in-law of the late Joel
Gordon.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment
took place at the Beth El Memorial
Park Cemetery in Livonia.

JOEL G. JACOB, 95, died May 3,
2012.
Mr. Jacob was a third-generation
Detroiter, who graduated from
University of Michigan Law
School. He served honorably in
the U.S. Army JAG during World
War II.
He was chairman of the board
of directors from 1976 until 2006
of M. Jacob and Sons, a 126-year-
old family-owned packaging busi-
ness started by Joel's grandfather,
Max Jacob. He was legal counsel
for many years as well as a found-
ing partner of Hertzberg, Jacob &
Weingarten, a prominent Detroit
corporate and bankruptcy law
firm, and of Jacob & Weingarten,
the successor law firm, currently
in business. Mr. Jacob will forever
by missed and forever in the fam-
ily's hearts.
He is survived by his wife of 36
years, Barbara; children, Deborah
Jacob, Paul Jacob, Karen Lichtig,
Lisa Lichtig; grandsons, Richard
Cohen, William Cohen, Daniel
Jacob, Wilkin Hanaway, Devin
Hanaway; great-granddaughters,
Hailey Cohen, Ella Cohen, Marlena
Cohen, Piper Cohen.
