of Health, Slatcher's project is studying 180
children ages 10-15 in Detroit with a home-
based assessment tool, the Electronically
Activated Recorder, or EAR. Data collected
from the EAR's "fly-on-the-wall" perspective
should help our understanding of the
interplay between domestic environments
and young people's health.
At the College of Engineering, the benefit of
cleaner, greener driving with electric vehicles
and other alternative fuels is just one of the
many motives for ongoing research.
