HELENE WALLACE, 83, of

Southfield, died Feb. 5,
2012.
She was a member of
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and a lifetime mem-
ber of Hadassah.
Mrs. Wallace is survived

in-law, Janet and Kenton
Howenstine of Wisconsin, Karolyn Wallace
and John Broder of Maryland; son and
daughter-in-law, David and Barbara Wallace
of Huntington Woods; grandchildren, Rachel
Howenstine and fiance, Noah Hawthorne,
Carly Howenstine, Richard and Deborah
Wallace, Adam Wallace, Katie Wallace, Daniel
Broder and Melanie Broder; sister-in-law,
Audree Horwitz; caregivers, Doris Braxton
and Candace Moses.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mel
Wallace; the loving sister of the late Luanne
Falk; the dear sister-in-law of the late Josh
Horwitz.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

ZELDA ZELDES, 85, of Southfield, died Jan.

31, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter and son-
in-law, Janis and Paul Sternberg of Oak
Park; grandchildren, Cary Sternberg, Jessica
Sternberg; many loving nieces and nephews,
great-nieces and great-nephews; great-great-
nieces and great-great-nephews.
Mrs. Zeldes was the loving mother of
the late David Zeldes and the late Marilyn
Zeldes; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late
Tommy and the late Bert Rogovein, the late
Eddie and the late Bea Rogovin, the late Louie
and the late Sara Rogovein, the late Irving and
the late Ida Rogovein, the late Leonard and
the late Mona Ross.

Longtime Teacher
At Jewish Preschools

Beth Isaacs, 41, of Teaneck, N.J., passed
away on Feb. 2, 2012.
For more than 20 years she was a
dedicated preschool teacher, at Yavneh
Academy of Paramus, N.J., Temple
Emanu-El in Oak Park and Akiva
Hebrew Day School in Southfield. She
influenced hundreds of young people
through her creative and innovative
approach to teaching. She was an active
member of the Ezrat Nashim of Young
Israel of Oak Park.
Mrs. Isaacs was the beloved wife of
Judah; loving mother of Uriel, Gavriel,
Eitan and Chana; loving stepmother
of Yona; cherished daughter of Joel
and Rosalie Rosenthal; dear sister of
Renee and Bruce Rabinowitz, Michelle
and David Mazor. She is also survived
by her parents-in-law, Dr. Joakim and
Shulamit Isaacs; her sisters-in-law,
Shira and Fivel Smiles, Rebecca and
Ezra Darshan. She was the loving aunt
of many.

Volunteers For Israel
Leader Vade Bolton

JTA — Vade Bolton, president of the
board of Volunteers for Israel, died
Dec. 26, 2011, at 72 after complica-
tions from knee surgery.
Volunteers for Israel, working
with Israel-based Sar-El, connects
Americans to Israel by partnering
with military and civilian organi-
zations that enable volunteers to
work side-by-side with Israelis. In
the past 30 years; more than 30,000
Americans have volunteered to help
at army bases and nursing homes.
In his hometown of Reston, Va.,
Bolton was "a key volunteer in the
community for more than three
decades."
His community contributions
included working at the front desk
of a community shelter for the
homeless and with hypothermia
prevention efforts in suburban
Virginia.
Colleague Kerrie Wilson said
Bolton "was a tireless advocate for
housing and the care for people who
are homeless and the most vulner-
able in our community."
