SYLVIA SCHERR, 98, of Farmington
Hills, died Dec. 18, 2011.
A retired music teacher, Mrs. Scherr
was a member of the Music Study Club of
Metro Detroit and Hadassah; and she was
a life member of Jewish National Fund.
She is survived by her sons, Eli Scherr
of Farmington Hills, Gerald Scherr of
Farmington Hills; numerous nieces and
nephews.
Mrs. Scherr was the beloved wife of the
late Jack Scherr.

ALAN I. SIMS, 76, of
Farmington Hills, died
Dec. 12, 2011.
He is survived
by his beloved wife,
Lillian "Suzi" Sims of
Farmington Hills; son
and daughter-in-law,
Sims
David and Andrea
Sims of West Bloomfield; daughter and
son-in-law, Michelle and Neil Gottenberg
of Marietta, Ga.; sister and brother-in-
law, Judy and Isaac Engelbaum of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Ben, Julia, Lena
and Brandon; many loving nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends.

American Heart Association, the American
Cancer Society or to a charity of one's
choice. Interment took place at the Adat
Shalom Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

DR. LAWRENCE STOCKER, 95, of
Bloomfield Hills and Rancho Mirage, Calif.,
died Dec. 16, 2011. He was a prominent

ophthalmologist and a 1940 graduate of
Wayne State University Medical School.
Dr. Stocker is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Richard Stocker, Robert
and Julie Taubman, and William and Ellen
Taubman; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle
and Michael Kalisman; grandchildren,
Corina Stocker, Jason and Philip Kalisman,
Alexander, Gogo, Theodore and Sebastian
Taubman, Oliver and Abigail Taubman, and
Sophia Rose Silver; great-granddaughter,
Lillian Silver; many nieces.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Reva Stocker; the devoted father of the late
Dr. Diane Joy Silver; the cherished grandfa-
ther of the late Santiago Stocker; the loving
brother of the late Robert Stocker and the
late Ruth Leland.
Interment at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

Mr. Warshaw was the brother of the late
Ann (Oscar) Sobol, the late Harry (Ida)
Warshaw, the late Irving (Laura) Warshaw,
the late Charles Warshaw; the father of the
late David Wolfe.
