Legacy Gift Left
To Camp Tamarack
Tamarack has been a summer haven
for Jewish children and families for
11 decades because of the count-
less people who choose to become
involved, and it is because of this
support that Tamarack's legacy lives
on.
Shirley A. Mopper, who died from
pancreatic cancer on May 22, 2010,
at age 82, has left a legacy that will
allow numerous children to attend a
Tamarack Camp program. Mopper
initially provided Tamarack with a
$100,000 outright gift and a commit-
ment for a future donation from her
estate. Tamarack is listed as a benefi-
ciary in her charitable trust.
The Coleman and Shirley A.
Mopper Annual Scholarship Fund
has been created to commemorate
that commitment. "Our mother
understood the value of that expe-
rience and wanted to ensure that
Jewish children could attend camp
regardless of their family's financial
situation:' said Andrew J. Mopper
and Marjorie Ann Mopper, both of
San Diego.
The Tamarack Hills Legacy Circle
recognizes those who have demon-
strated their love, passion, financial
support and commitment to The
Fresh Air Society and Tamarack
Camps. Shirley A. Mopper is recog-
nized for providing similar support
to ensure and preserve the future of
a Jewish camp experience.

Circle or donate to the Coleman
and Shirley A. Mopper Annual
Scholarship Fund, contact Deena
Lockman, director of development at
