Shirley A. Mopper, who died from pancreatic cancer on May 22, 2010, at age 82, has left a legacy that will allow numerous children to attend a Tamarack Camp program. Mopper initially provided Tamarack with a $100,000 outright gift and a commit- ment for a future donation from her estate. Tamarack is listed as a benefi- ciary in her charitable trust. The Coleman and Shirley A. Mopper Annual Scholarship Fund has been created to commemorate that commitment. "Our mother understood the value of that expe- rience and wanted to ensure that Jewish children could attend camp regardless of their family's financial situation:' said Andrew J. Mopper and Marjorie Ann Mopper, both of San Diego. The Tamarack Hills Legacy Circle recognizes those who have demon- strated their love, passion, financial support and commitment to The Fresh Air Society and Tamarack Camps. Shirley A. Mopper is recog- nized for providing similar support to ensure and preserve the future of a Jewish camp experience. To join the Tamarack Hills Legacy Circle or donate to the Coleman and Shirley A.
