Bedbugs: The Facts

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Cimex lectularius (most common type)
SIZE: 4-5 mm in length/2-3 mm in height (about the size of a large
watermelon seed)
FOOD: Human blood
HEALTH RISKS: Minimal. Usually presents as a red, swollen area
around the bite that is itchy. In rare instances, mild anaphylaxes may
