Stern-Blender

arol Blender of Franklin and
Dennis and Anita Blender of
Bloomfield Hills are thrilled to
announce the engagement of their daughter,
Katie Karbal Blender, to Michael Samuel
Stern, son of Tobi and Gary Cooper of
Minnetonka, Minn., and Allen Stern of
Mendota Heights, Minn.
Katie received her bachelor of science in
public affairs from Indiana University. She
is a business analyst at Target headquarters
in Minneapolis.
Michael received his bachelor of sci-
ence in business from the Kelley School of
Business at Indiana University. He is currently completing his MBA from the
Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He works for a
private equity firm in Minneapolis.
A November 2011 wedding is planned in Edina, Minn.

Ellman 99th

/

rving Merle Ellman celebrated
his 99th birthday on Sept. 18 at
Knollwood Country Club surrounded
by family and friends. He was born on Sept.
16, 1912, in Chicago.
The birthday cake was handmade by
daughter Donna. Music was performed
by nephew Ron Ellman and friends Steve
Sussman and Robert Dempster.
Attending were Irv's children, Harry and
Peggy Ellman, Carol and Robert Grumet,
Donna and Harris Faberman; grandchil-
dren, Erica and Tal Izraeli, Jeff and Elyse
Ellman, Dr. Josh Grumet and Jamie Grumet,
Danielle Grumet; great-grandchildren, Zachary Izraeli and Brooke Izraeli, Ellie
Bara Grumet.
Sadly missed was Irv's adored wife of 66 years, Bluma Ellman.
