'67-Borders Plan Is
A Formula For War
The "land-for-peace" formula
President Obama proposes, discussed
in Uriel Heilman's article ("1967
Borders:' May 26, page 1), is not a
formula for peace but, rather, for con-
tinued conflict.
This formula informs Hamas, as
well as those of like mind, that no
matter how many times Israel is
attacked, its borders will remain the
"1967 lines with mutually agreed
swaps." Or to put this another way,
President Obama gives Israel's
enemies carte blanche to continue
to attack Israel, leaving peace as an
illusion.
In recent years, Israel has become
more isolated and vulnerable, not
unlike European Jewry during the
Hitler period. The "Arab Spring"
welcomed by President Obama has
the potential to turn into an "Arab
Winter" as Iran pursues its nuclear
ambitions. Pressuring Israel to make
suicidal concessions raises the spec-
ter of a second Holocaust.
For some, there is the question:
How does one not fear for the future
of Israel if President Obama is re-
elected in 2012?

Outrageous Comments
On Obama Hurt Israel
I had to respond to the comments
made by local Jewish people about
President Barack Obama in the Jewish
News ("Local Views," June 2, page 23).
The misinformation and misquotes
going around since the speech he
made a few days prior to his speech
at the AIPAC Policy Conference in
Washington have been outrageous.
Do our Jewish people not realize
that these words only hurt Israel? We,
of all people, should not be saying
things that are not true. We should be
supporting Israel and our president
if we want him to support our Jewish
homeland.
It is amazing to me that the leader-
ship of AIPAC has never said anything
critical publicly about anything that
President Obama said in his remarks
made a few days before his appear-

ance at the AIPAC Conference and, of
course, we all know that AIPAC is the
strongest supporter of Israel. President
Obama never said that Israel should
give back any of the land that we took
in the 1967 war. He said that it was a
good place to START the negotiations.
He was NOT the first president
to say that. Presidents Clinton and
George W. Bush said the exact same
thing. They, however, did not say it
publicly. Obama said that in order to
protect Israel, we cannot wait another
decade or two or three. We must move
now to give Israel the protection and
safety it needs and deserves.
The people that were attacking our
president did not like him before this
and said so in their comments. These
people are using this as a tactic to try
to hurt Obama in the next election.

Troops In Afghanistan,
Iraq Help Restrain Iran
Have you looked at a map of Iran
lately? Notice that Turkey, Iraq and the
Persian Gulf sit on her eastern border
while Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and
Pakistan sit on Iran's western border.
Do you think that the presence of
tens of thousands of American combat
troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
impeded Iran's nuclear and "imperial-
ist" plans in the region?
Have you noticed that President
Obama is in a big hurry to pull com-
bat troops from Afghanistan starting
next month?
I watched Prime Minister
Netanyahu's address to the joint
session of Congress. He said Israel
defends itself and doesn't ask for
foreign troops to help. But having a
big, strong friend watching your back
ain't all bad. American veteran combat
troops standing by Iran's eastern and
western borders has to make Israel
feel a bit more secure.
The guy in the White House is
working hard to change that.
Why do American Jews overwhelm-
ingly back President Obama? He is no
friend of Israel.
