PEARL KALT, 94,
of Oak Park, died
April 19, 2011.
She was a gour-
met cook and loved
to travel and drive
sporty cars, but her
passion was her
Kalt
family. Her Friday
night dinners were
legendary. Co-owner
of the Little Shop Boutique in
Birmingham until her retirement, she
had a keen sense of style and a quiet
elegance.
She is survived by her sons,
Melvyn (Paula), Richard (Lydia),
and Morse (Brenda); grandchildren,
Julie (Robert) Greenfield, Brian
(Sara) Kalt, Stephanie Gessow, Mya
Kalt, Chloe Kalt, Chelsea Kalt; great-
grandchildren, Fredrick and James
Greenfield, Benjamin and Jonathan
Kalt, and Harrison Gessow; sister-
in-law, Rae Sperber; scores of nieces,
nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Kalt was the beloved wife of
the late Charles Kalt; the loving sister
of the late Vivian Kushnir and the late
Milton Sperber; grandmother of the
late Charles Dustin Kalt.
Contributions may be made
to Jewish Senior Life or Coville
Apartments Assisted Living.
Interment at Beth Abraham Cemetery
in Ferndale. Arrangements by

FLORENCE "FLO" ROSE, 83, of Boca

Raton, Fla., died April 16, 2011.
She worked as a food demonstrator
at Costco in Boca for 20 years. She and
her husband were both active in the
Jewish War Veterans and the March of
Dimes.
Mrs. Rose is survived by her son
and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Susan
Lebowitz of California; daughter and
son-in-law, Jeanne and Bob Hurst
of Highland, Mich.; daughter, Laura
Freeman of Boca Raton; six grand-
children; six great-grandchildren;
devoted brother and sister-in-law,
Milton and Beverly Dunn of Walled
Lake; many nieces and nephews.
She was the wife of the late Al
Rose; beloved daughter of the late
Louis and the late Sarah Dunn; sister
of the late Nathan Dunn.
Interment in Florida.

HOWARD SIMON, 59, of San Diego,

Calif., died April 17, 2011.
He is survived by his daughter,
Stephani Simon of Hartford, Conn.;
brother and sister-in-law, Barry and
Zina Simon; mother, Arlis Simon of
Farmington Hills; uncle and aunt,
Sheldon and Suzanne Simon; nieces,
Kaylie and Jamie Simon. Mr. Simon is
also survived by Maureen Simon and a
world of loving friends.
He was the beloved son of the late
Marvin Simon.

Southfield, died April
22, 2011.
She was a teacher
and librarian in
the Passaic School
System. She was also
a lifetime member of
Slovis
the National Council
of Jewish Women, a member of B'nai
B'rith, Hadassah and ORT.
Mrs. Slovis is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Tom and Ellie
Slovis of Bloomfield Hills, Norman and
Carol Slovis of Maryland; grandchildren,
Michael and Kellie Slovis, Deborah and
Michael Berger, Max and Lisa Slovis,
Lisa and David Mandel, Nathan and
Stacie Slovis, Margo and Seth Glicksman
and Danny and Kristine Slovis; 15 great-
grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Weinberg
of Florida.
Mrs. Slovis was the beloved wife of
the late Reuben Slovis.
Interment was at King Solomon
