SAM GREENE, 80, of Buffalo, Grove,
Ill., died April 16, 2011.
Mr. Greene is survived by his
beloved wife and best friend, Greta
(Dolinko) Greene; children and step-
children, Sandra (Neil) Serbin, Ruth
(Owen) Stern of Detroit, Michael
(Terri) Greene, Andrea (John) Barrett,
Lawrence (Sue) Ellen, Martin (Robin)
Ellen, Howard (Betsy) Ellen; 15
grandchildren, including Haley and
Ryan Stern; four great-grandchil-
dren. He was the brother of Sylvia
Abraham, Morris (Phyllis) Greenberg
and Sally Greenberg.
He was the son of the late Louis
and the late Ruth Greenberg; beloved
husband of the late LouElla (Nimz).
Graveside services were held.
Contributions may be made
to Alzheimer's Association.

SYBIL HOFFMAN,
93, of Bloomfield
Hills, died April 23,
2011.
She was a life-
time member of
Temple Beth El,
where she was
Hoffman
extremely active
as a member of
the board of trustees, a member of
the Ambassadors, a member of the
sisterhood and a head usher for many
years. She was also the first director
of the Sinai Hospital Women's Guild
prior to working for many years at
Planned Parenthood, a member of the
National Council of Jewish Women
and a member or ORT.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her
daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Lee
and Morton Metzger of Bloomfield
Hills, Nancy and Michael Bank
of Bloomfield Hills, Carol and Dr.
Michael Dean of Arizona; son and
daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda
Hoffman of Charlevoix; grandchil-
dren, Dr. Daniel Metzger, Marc and
Judy Metzger, Michael and Rachel
Metzger, Mark and Cathy Bank, Amy
and Dr. James Levine, Jeffrey and
Shelly Dean, Julie Dean and Scott
Deetz, Angela and Pat Hart and Kathy
and Greg Rebman; 22 great-grand-
children; brother and sister-in-law,
Dr. Avery Weisman and Rose London
of Arizona; caregivers, Lena Brown,
Deborah Munro and Priscilla Hurston.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Sol Z. Hoffman and the late Dr. Oscar
U. Shapiro; the loving mother of the
late Kenneth Lloyd Shapiro.
Interment at Beth El Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may
be made to a charity of one's choice.
