Five-Ingredient Farfel

toasted
11/2 cups chopped onions
4 cups warm chicken broth or stock
Salt and pepper to taste

xi Film Notes

Arthur, opening April 8 and star-
411) ring Russell Brand in the title role,
UM is a remake of the hit 1981 comedy
II starring Dudley Moore.
In the new version, Arthur's
(1) nanny (Helen Mirren) seeks to keep
him out of trouble (in the original,
it was his butler).
The original
Arthur was direct-
ed and written by
Steve Gordon. It
was his only fea-
ture film; he died
of a heart attack,
at age 44, in 1982.
The remake is the
Jason Winer
first feature film
directed by Jason
Winer, 36, a former actor who is
one of the principal directors of
Modern Family, the hit ABC TV
series.
Your Highness, also opening
April 8, is an epic comedy set in a
fantasy world reminiscent of King
Arthur's time.
Two brothers who are princes
(played by Danny McBride, 34, and
James Franco, 32) set off to res-
cue Franco's kidnapped bride-to-be
(Zooey Deschanel).
They have to battle bad guys and

CL

dragons to save her. The princes
are joined on their mission by a
powerful but mysterious woman
warrior (Natalie Portman, 29).
The Music Never
Stops, opening
Friday, April 15, is
based on the case
study "The Last
Hippie," by Dr.
Oliver Sacks, 77,
a British neurolo-
gist who has lived
Oliver Sacks
in America since
1965. Sacks' nephew, Jonathan
Sacks, is the chief Orthodox rabbi
of the U.K.
Two other films have been based
on Oliver Sacks' works: At First
Sight (1995), and the semi-auto-
biographical Awakenings (1991),In
Music, it's 1967 and Henry Sawyer
(J.K. Simmons), a straight-laced
guy who loves jazz and hates rock,
tells his hippie son Gabriel not
to go to a Grateful Dead concert.
Gabriel runs away from home.
Twenty years later, they reunite
when Gabriel has brain tumor sur-
gery. The removal of the tumor
results in Gabriel unable to form
new memories. He is "stuck" in
1967. His father takes Gabriel to
a music/medical specialist (Julia
Ormond), and they discover that
through the rock music of the '60s,
father and son can reconnect.
