Battle Of Book Honors
For Yeshiva Teams
While the Jewish News reported last
week on two teams from Yeshivat
Akiva that did well in the Southfield
Library's Battle of the Books ("Book
Worms," March 24, page 12), we
neglected other Jewish day school
teams which placed highly.
The Beth Jacob eighth-grade girls'
team, the RamPAGErs, were first-
place winners in the middle school
challenge. Team members were Sara
Farhy, Sara Heber, Shoshana Tobi,
and Miriam Waxenberg. Coaches
Susan Katz and Vicky Waxenberg
said the team members did all the

preparation themselves.
In the fifth grade challenge, the
Rainbow Readers from Bais Yaakov
also won first place. The team
included Elisheva Batt, Hadassah
Farhy, Devorah Gelberman, Esti
Wayntraub, Yael Zacks and Leah
Zeiler.
The Word Wonders, consisting of
Elchonon Batt, Shimon Mayerfeld,
Yossi Silverstein, Eitan Sosne, Mayer
Weingarden and Yoni Weisberg from
Yeshiva Beth Yehudah, won second
place in the middle school challenge.
The Word Wonders and the
Rainbow Readers were coached by
Anita and Eric Batt. 1
