In addition to the many unique and
fun activities already available at the
Dead Sea, two new activities have been
recently added — aerial tours of the
Dead Sea region and scuba diving in the
Dead Sea. SunAir is offering three differ-
ent guided "flightseeine tours, starting
from Masada and flying over different
areas of the Dead Sea and Judean Desert
regions. It also offers skydiving for the
more adventurous. Contact gilaviv@
zahay.net.il for more information.
Experienced scuba divers can take
advantage of Dead Sea Divers' under-
water tours. View magnificent salt
crystal formations and be one of the
few people who can say that they sank
in the Dead Sea. More information and
contact details are available at www.
deadseadivers.com .
In order to facilitate touring while in
Israel, the Israel Ministry of Tourism
has recently launched a great new travel
resource — the iSrael application for
iPhones. The application will allow
users to receive updated information on
sites, tours, accommodations and events
taking place around the country. It will
be able to pinpoint the user's location
and provide quick access to digital
maps of the area.
Users also can use the application to
upload photographs and comments to
social media sites such as Facebook and
Twitter. The application can be down-
loaded from the Apple website or by
searching "Israel Tourism" in the Apps
search bar on the iPhone or iPad.
Make your 2011 vacation an excit-
ing, cultural and adventurous one —
in Israel! ❑
