The Frank sisters-in-law came up
with the idea for the company after
talking about art and the possibilities
of the vintage photos that had been
amassed.
"There are companies doing vin-
tage, but we had ideas for doing that
our own way:' explains Julie Frank,
who was ready to revive her career
after being a full-time mom. Annie
Frank also wanted to resume career
activities with some new dimensions
after the Roz & Sherm closing in
2006.
"When my sister-in-law and I
started the company last year, we
thought the close-up photos would
be especially good for greeting cards:'
says Annie Frank, who still has family
in Michigan, including sisters Sharon
Frank Roeseler and Paula Harris and

brother Jonathan Frank, all of West
Bloomfield.
Annie Frank is shown in childhood
with her older sister Sharon for a
greeting card that reads, "I only said
it was time to go to bed ..." while the
inside says, "I think what I said came
out all wrong! So sorry!"
Frank also is on a card with her
brother Charlie Frank of Los Angeles.
It reads:"... He just kissed me on the
lisps!!" Inside, the greeting continues:
"Hope you'll always feel like two kids
in love ... tongue tied & just kissed!
Congratulations!"
"We're trying really hard to get the
cards in stores, says Annie Frank.
"We've placed them in California,
Arizona and Pennsylvania, particu-
larly in independent bookstores and
upscale art outlets." ❑

See the company's offerings on the website www.franklyspeaking
vintagegreetings.com . As products do not currently have a Detroit-area
retail location, Detroiters can order them directly through the company
by e-mailing to: Anniejulie@franklyspeakingvintagegreetings.com .
