Cancer Thrivers

Healing" will take place on 7-8:30
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Temple
Israel in West Bloomfield.
This program will celebrate the
personal expression of faith and
spirituality in the individual healing
process.
Rabbi Marla Hornsten and
Cantorial Soloist Neil Michaels of
Temple Israel will lead this personal-
ized and intimate service. Attendees
can bring a quote reflecting their
own cancer journey. It may describe
the attendee's philosophy or how
Judaism has inspired him.
The evening will present medita-
tion, prayer, personal reflection and
song. Quotes will be collected and
compiled for use in future healing
services.
Dessert and coffee will be served.
There is no charge, but donations
will be welcomed.

Jewish Women welcomes women
who have been diagnosed with any
kind of cancer at any time in their
lives.
The mission of the network is
to enrich and empower Jewish
women through activities friendship,

Meijer Helps Yad Ezra
Meijer is including Berkley-
based Yad Ezra in its Simply Give
Program until Sept. 25 at the
Southfield store (12 Mile and
Telegraph) only.
Purchase a $10 Simply Give
card at the checkout. The dollar
amount raised from card sales along
with a donation from Meijer will
result in a store credit that Yad Ezra,
Michigan's only kosher food pantry.
Yad Ezra will use proceeds to
buy food and toiletries for its client
families.
